Does anyone know how to go about joining here? My daughter is in Kindergarden and i want get her into something useful. Girl scouts looks like a good choice. Anybody know contact info? 

What do Girl Scouts do now days other than sell cookies?

They do a few things, it just depends on the girl scout leader. The younger the girls are, the less things they do (such as camping, hiking, etc) 

Hmmm. I hope they do cool stuff around here. My mom was even a leader, and I remember how lame and boring it was. A month ago or so my mom and I were actually talking about it and she was unimpressed with it and would never do it again. They need to up it. The boy scouts are a big thing for boys... why can't the girl scouts up it and make a bigger name for themselves besides cookies? I'm sure they do good things, I just wish it was more consistent from place to place, and they were more known for more than those oh so delicious and tempting cookies. 

Thanks for the link mamakat, I was thinking about putting my daughter in GS too but didnt know if post here had a troop. I remember being a scout when I was younger and we did all kinds of stuff. We camped, volunteered at a food bank, horseback riding, scavenger hunts and all kinds of projects. It was great fun! I hope they are active here. 

Anyone know of anyone selling girl scout cookies? I'd buy them from my sisters back home (AZ) but I dont want to have to wait for them to be sent here LOL 

The pre-orders are done, but I'll email my daughter's troop leader about it. They should have some booths set up next month (I think) in front of the commissary!

The Post Commander didn't allow door to door sales :(. He said that he wants to enforce the "No solicitation" thing. So the Girl Scouts on post can't sell off post (that's for the Leesville scouts), can't sell door to door...so it kinda sucked! heh. I'm going to have to ship about 60 boxes of cookies...

some little girl came to my work ( on post) and hit us all up for cookies, lucky kid! i think we all filled up her sheet! haha 

we got our cookies from my husbands work to ,mmm mmmm cant wait to eat them lol
